The Bright Foundation, focused on providing education for a brighter future through college scholarships, recently announced the launch of its newest scholarship initiative – Bright Scholars of Iowa.
The scholarship is a need and merit-based grant designed to help ensure a select number of outstanding Iowa high school seniors have the financial means to complete a two- or four-year college education without accumulating debt.
The first three students to receive the scholarship include:
- Tess Lough – University of Iowa
- Garrett Miller – University of Northern Iowa
- Dalton Peterson – Iowa State University
These recipients were celebrated at a reception held at the Bright Grandview Golf Course Clubhouse in Des Moines. Dan M. Kelly, managing director of the Bright Foundation board, led the recognition event.
The Bright Foundation was founded by H. Dale and Lois Bright in 1957. Since then, it has quietly contributed millions of dollars to Iowa organizations, charities and educational institutions.
