Brandy is majoring in communications and political science. Meet Emilie, one of the interns for the Bright Foundation. Emilie is a sophomore majoring in biomedical engineering. In her free time, she likes to golf or practice tarot card reading. On October 20, 2020, a virtual reception was held with all the Iowa State University Bright Scholars of Iowa and Lois Dale Bright Scholars to recognize the newest recipients of both awards.

On October 6, 2020, Bright Scholars at the University of Northern Iowa gathered virtually with representatives from the Bright Foundation and UNI to recognize seniors and welcome the 2020 cohort.

First-year UNI Bright Scholars gathered for a socially-distanced welcome picnic at the beginning of the fall 2020 semester.

On February 7, 2020, Iowa State University hosted a reception at the Memorial Union to honor its 2019 Bright Scholars.
